XenoGate v3.0

A Windows 10+ compatible VST3 plugin for creating complex gate patterns and created for the primary purpose of creating interesting and varied FM leads for my psytrance/darkpsy/hitech/psycore and slambient tunes. The plugin quickly took on a life of its own however and is useful for far more than just gate effects. It is also useful for creating tremolo and vibrato effects as well as evolving, chopped and generative audio effects.

The plugin features randomisation, mutation and probability controls for an infinite number of subtle or enormous variations.

– Host-synchronised 4/8/12/16-step rhythmic gate
– Per-step enable/disable using large full-card step hit areas
– Hidden default step checkboxes; the neon card graphics show selected/de-selected state

– Rate, Swing and Shape controls for timing and gate feel
– Depth, Smooth and Mix controls for gate intensity, transition smoothing and wet/dry balance

– Auto Randomise and Auto Mutate options for evolving the patterns each bar/loop
– Mutate Amount control for scaling mutation intensity
– All Off, All On, Invert and Mutate action buttons
– Consistent per-step colour cycle: Cyan, Magenta, Purple, Magenta, repeated across all 16 steps
– Current-step visual marker and host-locked step progression
– Full APVTS parameter state for DAW recall and automation
– Custom Xeno-style sci-fi interface with embedded static assets, dice buttons, centre-panel iconography and procedural neon step-card graphics
