XenoSift - Coming Soon!
Ten effect slots with direct drag-and-drop reordering, a deep library of processors, structural randomisation, per-parameter SIFT controls, a dedicated randomisation settings editor, modulation and enough possible effect orders to make “try everything” physically unreasonable.
Roll. Listen. Intervene.
XenoSift treats the effect chain itself as a playable compositional object. Build deliberately, randomise selectively, lock what works, and keep exploring around it.
- Drag and drop any of the ten effect cards to reorder the live signal chain directly by hand.
- Randomise effect order independently from parameter values.
- PARAM randomisation for fast timbral mutation without rebuilding the chain.
- ALL operations for broad structural exploration.
- Ten visible effect slots with routing flow and per-effect locking.
- Deep Edit pages expose the character controls of each processor.
- Per-parameter SIFT controls make randomisation selective rather than indiscriminate.
- Dedicated LFO and Matrix pages extend movement beyond static randomisation.
- The Randomisation Settings editor lets you bias which processors and behaviours can participate, so chaos can be curated rather than left completely blind.
- Two Step Sequencer modulators and 9 LFOs provide repeatable movement alongside the Matrix.
Randomisation Settings editor
XenoSift’s randomisation system is not limited to a single fire-and-forget button. The dedicated Randomisation Settings editor lets you shape the behaviour of ALL rolls and decide how adventurous or conservative the engine should be.
- Set per-effect participation probabilities for structural ALL randomisation.
- Save and load randomisation setups for different creative strategies.
- Recall factory starting points or create your own curated randomisation profiles.
- Use it as a way to steer discovery toward the types of processors you currently want in play.
The XenoSift effect catalogue
Populate the ten-slot chain from any of these 24 processors, then drag and drop the cards into the order you want or let XenoSift roll a new route for you.
Drag any processor to rearrange this catalogue. The first ten positions are highlighted to represent the ten processors currently occupying a XenoSift patch. This demonstration resets when the page is reloaded.
Technical specifications*
*The first four are entirely real mathematics. LCJ and LPS are also real mathematics; only the units are questionable.
The paper specification
| One interface print per effect order | 7,117,005,772,800 sheets |
| Assumed A4 paper thickness | ≈0.10 mm |
| Total stack height | ≈711,700 km |
| Earth → Moon | ≈1.85× |
| Approx. paper mass at 80 gsm | ≈35.5 million tonnes |
| Complete XenoSift stacks to reach the Sun | ≈210 |
The time specification
- One unique order per day would take about 19.5 billion years to exhaust the space.
- That is longer than the current age of the universe.
- One random roll per second for 7.117 trillion rolls still does not guarantee every order has appeared because randomisation can repeat previous states.
- At N random draws from N equally likely states, the expected unique coverage is only about 63.2%.
Combinatorial figures describe effect order only; parameter values and modulation multiply the practical sonic possibility space far beyond this figure.
XenoSift
For producers who want a multi-effect that behaves less like a rack and more like a discovery engine.
